Adobe Premiere Pro basics start with the understanding the interface you are working in and understanding the functions panels serve when editing.

One of the best ways to learn a program is to understand the interface you are working in.  Many times it can be extremely confusing just to know what each window in a program does.

I’ve been working in Adobe Premiere since the late 90s and I have had plenty of time to understand the way the program works and to feel comfortable in the application.  I was hugely inspired by Peter McKinnon’s after effects tutorial on the After Effects interface is broken down. To give you that edge in understanding how Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019 functions I wanted to do the same thing Peter did and break down the interface into the simplest of terms. In the above video, I explained what each panel is and what function it serves in the editing process when working with Adobe Premiere Pro.

In the video, I isolate each panel and give an explanation of what happens in it. With the basic knowledge of the layout, you will hopefully learn that an editing application such as Adobe Premiere Pro doesn’t have to be intimidating and can help you edit your films. If you take this approach in understanding an application there is a chance you’ll be able to learn more programs faster and up your arsenal of abilities that can be used to make better films.
